Side Lifter Mod...

***NOTE***
If you install the side lifters you run the risk of breaking your leg or some other un-godly disaster. I highly advise you do not do this mod, unless keeping your feet in the tray is of the utmost importance. The following information is for informational purposes only.

The side lifter wedges sold by Hydro-Turf are Great for keeping your feet in the tray in rough water, or in race conditions. However, they tend to pop off in the very WORST conditions leaving you with an awkward feeling of one side lifter wedge and one open tray. What I came up with copies what the freestyle companies are doing with standups.

Using
-bulk Hydro-turf Diamond Mat
-Contact cement
-Side Lifter wedges

-Glue the Mat to the dry side of the side lifter wedges.
-Sharply bend over the Mats on the short ends of the lifter wedge and let dry.

-Where the pads and lifter wedge need to go back 90degrees, slightly put a cut down the pad to help it sit flat. Try not to cut yourself.
-Rough up the side with 80grit. Dont go thru the paint. Clean with alcohol.

-Use a pencil, and scissors and get them to fit the way you want.
-Glue within the pencil marks, and the entire backside of the mat.
-Install once tacky and seal the edges with black rtv. Don't worry too much about getting the rtv on top of the pads. It will wear off the first time you go to the water.
